Cat liter can cause clogs if it is poured down the drain. It can end up being a serious problem because some cat liters are made with clay. When water and clay are mixed together they can turn into cement. You do not want to pour ingredients that can mix together and form cement down your drain.
A lot of drain problems can be stopped beforehand by not putting certain items down the drain. Be sure to properly dispose of items like coffee grinds, grease, food scraps, and cat liter so that you can avoid clogs if possible.
